EZ-SAVE Program, formerly known as Low Income Discount Program, provides a bill discount on electricity, water and sewer services for participating income-qualified customers. To qualify for EZ-SAVE, your household income must meet EZ-SAVE guidelines.
While we don't require you to submit proof of eligibility when you initially apply, you may be selected to participate in the EZ-SAVE Verification process at any time during your enrollment.
To continue receiving your EZ-SAVE discount, you must provide proof of eligibility within three (3) months of the date of the first Verification Notification letter we sent you. To establish program eligibility, customers should review the income eligibility requirements at ladwp.com/EZSAVE.
Please complete the EZ-SAVE Verification Form by carefully following the instructions below.
1.Collect Proof of Income documentation for each person in your household who earns income.
Each person in your household who earns income must provide proof of income.
“Income” shall be defined as the combined gross income, whether taxable or non-taxable, of all persons who live in the household, which includes but is not limited to: the total income from salaries, wages, child support, alimony, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Social Security benefits, spousal support payments, veteran benefits, disability, unemployment, retirement, cash, tips, public assistance, food stamps, and all employment-related non-cash income.
Documents approved for EZ-SAVE Verification include:
- Previous year State or Federal income tax return (Tax transcript are also acceptable instead of tax returns)
- Previous year Social Security benefits statement
- Copy of previous year Social Security or SSI check
- Previous year SSI disability award letter
- Award letter (notice of action) for Cal Works, CAP, General Relief or Food Stamps
Please make sure to block out Social Security and/or bank account numbers on all documents you submit for added security.
2.Complete the EZ-SAVE Verification Form and submit it with your proof of income documents.
Please use the Verification Form enclosed in your Notification letter or you may download a copy here and print it. Complete and sign the Verification Form and send it, together with proof of income documentation, to:
