Gregory Reed

Gregory Reed serves as Senior Assistant General Manager of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer. Mr. Reed most recently was the General Manager of West Basin Municipal Water District (West Basin) where he oversaw the wholesale supply of water to the more than 900,000 residents of 17 cities and unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. Mr. Reed also has 20 years of experience with LADWP and was the Assistant Director of Water Engineering and Technical Services before leaving to join West Basin. 

In addition to his career as a professional engineer, Mr. Reed has a demonstrated commitment to workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion. He was active in early diversity efforts at LADWP, including in employee engagement with professional affiliations such as the Society of Women Engineers and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and leading recruiting efforts to attract a diverse and highly-qualified technical workforce. He subsequently cofounded at LADWP the first employee-based professional chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers and served as its president. Mr. Reed is a graduate from Cal State University Northridge with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering. He will report directly to the General Manager.
