Collaborative changes to the interconnection process for photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) have been identified and are currently undergoing implementation.

In support of those customers who have made the commitment to reduce their carbon footprint, progressive changes to our interconnection processes designed to save both time and money are continuously being evaluated.

The following is a list of updates to the Net Energy Metering (NEM) program we’ve recently implemented:

Performance meters

  • PV systems up to and including 30.00 kW AC are no longer required (updated 9/2020).

  • PV systems greater than 30.00 kW AC require performance meters (updated 9/2020).

Utility disconnect switches

  • No longer required for PV systems with total combined aggregate PV capacities up to and including
30.00 kW AC; 1-phase and 3-phase (updated 9/2020). Certain restrictions may apply, such as those on premises without self-contained metering (see page 8-6 L, ESR Requirements).

  • No longer required for BESS systems with total combined aggregate BESS capacities up to and including 30.00 kW AC; 1-phase and 3-phase (updated 9/2020). Certain restrictions may apply, such as those on premises without self-contained metering (see page 8-6 L, ESR Requirements).
