Type 1, 2, 3 and 4 Interconnection Process.

    Type 1 – PV (NEM)/BESS

    Customers or contractors can apply under the Type 1 Interconnection Process for PV (NEM) and/or BESS projects that meet the following Service Planning requirements.

    Type 1 Interconnection Process should be followed if the proposed system is up to and including 30kW* aggregate system size* and does not include:

    1) a service panel upgrade;

    2) a three (3) phase service connected to the customer’s project;

    3) projects that contain any non-NEM eligible cogeneration components; and

    4) other multi-meter interconnection types such as apartment buildings, tract home projects, etc. (e.g. multi-meter interconnections are not “single meter” interconnection applications).

    Type 1 Interconnection Process will typically involve these steps:

    Type 2 – PV (NEM)/BESS/COGEN

    Customers or contractors can apply under the Type-2 Interconnection Process for PV (NEM) and/or BESS projects that meet the following Service Planning requirements.

    Type 2 Interconnection Process should be followed if the proposed system is up to and including 30kW* aggregate system size* (or 10kW and below, 3 phase) and does include:

    1) a service panel upgrade; and/or

    2) other small multi-meter interconnection types such as apartment buildings, tract home projects, etc. i.e. not a single meter interconnection application and/or

    3) projects that contain any non-NEM eligible cogeneration components up to and including 30kW* aggregate system size.

    Type 2 Interconnection Process will typically involve these steps:

    Customers or contractors can apply for the Type 3 Interconnection Process for PV (NEM), BESS and/or Cogeneration projects that meet the following Service Planning requirements. All system size ratings submitted as kW AC and kW AC-CEC (solar).

    Type 3 Interconnection Process should be followed if the proposed system installation is greater than 30kW* and less than 1MW (for NEM and BESS) aggregate system size, for all non-NEM eligible cogeneration project greater than 30kW* and less than 1MW aggregate system size, and/or does include:

    1) a part of a new tract home project (i.e. five or more homes being interconnected);

    2) a three (3) phase service connected to the customer’s project with aggregate system size* greater than 10kW*; and

    3) other large, multi-meter interconnection types such as apartment buildings, tract home projects, etc. i.e. not a single meter interconnection application.
