Thank you for our interest in careers at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP).

Our most current job openings are listed every Friday on our website JoinLADWP.com

Below is a Career Resource Toolkit with documents that can be downloaded directly from this page:

1.    The Civil Service Process and Hiring Timeline provides an overview of the hiring process timeline for most positions.

2.    The LADWP Job Flyer will help you locate jobs that have an application period that is “Open Now” as well as jobs that are “Upcoming.” It also provides information on how to locate a list of all jobs so you can review them and subscribe to be notified once the application period for a particular job opens.

3.    The Categorized Job Flyer serves as a valuable resource for identifying job opportunities aligned with your interests across various categories. Each job listed provides essential details such as salary, duties, minimum qualifications, and the selection process (testing information) in its accompanying job bulletin. To access further information, simply download the PDF and click on the respective job title to navigate to its job bulletin. To stay informed about the opening of application periods for desired positions, you can subscribe by clicking the designated button and providing necessary details. Additionally, you can refer to the "LADWP Job Flyer" (Section #2 above) for a comprehensive overview of current open positions in the "Open Now" section and upcoming opportunities in the "Upcoming" section.

4.    The Benefits of Working at LADWP sheet provides an insight into all the great benefits LADWP offers including a Pension for retirement, a Tuition Reimbursement program, as well as Flexible Work Schedule and Paid Time Off, amongst others.

5.    The Utility Pre-Craft Training Program - UPCT (currently active) and the Utility Worker Program - UWP (A new program that is opening in the near future) are also great opportunities through our Union, IBEW Local 18, with the potential of leading to a permanent position. Please make sure to review the information on the flyers for the program details.

6.    The Intro to Electricity course is self-paced, online and usually takes between 4.5 to 6 months to complete. Make sure to read the FAQ portion of the document carefully.

         a.    There are six job classifications (aka job/position titles) listed below that have the successful completion of this course listed as one of the requirements to apply.
         b.    You can find and review the job bulletins for the below positions using the information in the FAQ portion of the Introduction to Electricity document:

                       •    Electric Station Operator
                       •    Electrical Craft Helper
