A:  The EPM is a convenient, web-based solution that provides a selection of popular energy efficient product brands available at numerous stores and online retailers, with pricing and available rebate information on eligible products. Additional non-rebated categories are provided to allow customers to research and compare energy efficient products. Rebated categories are denoted by a dollar sign ($) icon.

    Applying online provides a quick rebate turnaround. For quickest rebate processing, online submissions can be made at https://marketplace.ladwp.com with no paperwork to mail. Rebates are provided via email through a Reward Link, which allows you to personalize how you would like your virtual rebate.

    The EPM also provides the option for customers to purchase selected products directly through an online store, and to receive their rebate immediately in the form of an instant discount at checkout. Eligible products are indicated by a shopping cart icon.

    Those who do not have email may submit a paper application, available for download at www.ladwp.com/epm, and a physical prepaid Visa gift card will be mailed to the account holder at the address provided on the application. These gift cards can be used anywhere Visa credit cards are accepted.

      A:  The EPM offers rebates for refrigerators, televisions, window mounted room air conditioners, Web-enabled and smart programmable thermostats, advanced power strips, and LED light bulbs.

      Non-rebated products include air purifiers, tablets, video game consoles, and dishwashers, among others.

        A:  Any residential customer of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) with an active electric account can claim a rebate for qualified products.

        Landlords cannot apply for a rebate for products purchased for one of their apartments unless their name is on the LADWP account for that unit at the time of purchase. House accounts and water only accounts are not eligible.

        Products must be purchased from a verified retailer. Resale units, units leased, rebuilt, rented, received from warranty insurance claims, gifted or won as a prize, redeemed using points, or new parts installed in existing units, do not qualify.

          A:  LADWP offers the following rebates for the product categories listed below:Lighting:

          • $2.50 for ENERGY STAR® Qualified

          Televisions:

          • $10 for ENERGY STAR® Qualified
          • $25 for ENERGY STAR® Most Efficient

          Refrigerators:

          • $65 for ENERGY STAR® Qualified
          • $75 for ENERGY STAR® Most Efficient

          Window-Mounted Room Air Conditioners:

          • $50 for ENERGY STAR® Qualified

          Programmable Thermostats:

          • $50 for web-enabled thermostats
          • $75 for smart thermostats

          Advanced Power Strips:

          • $15 for Tier 2

          Rebate amount cannot exceed purchase price. Customers cannot receive more than one rebate for the same item from any LADWP or other California utility program.

            A:  A web-enabled thermostat is connected to Wi-Fi and allows users to make temperature adjustments remotely from other Wi-Fi enabled devices.

              A:  A smart thermostat is connected to Wi-Fi and allows users to make temperature adjustments remotely from other Wi-Fi enabled devices. In addition, they can learn, mimic, and predict user behavior to make automatic temperature adjustments based on that behavior.

                A:  No, Tier 1 Advanced Power Strips do not  qualify for a rebate.

                  A:  A Tier 2 APS terminates the electrical load of master and peripheral devices when sensors detect inactivity for a specified amount of time.

                    A:  This program is subject to change or termination without prior notice.

                      A:  Program limits are listed below:

                      • Lighting – Limit 20 per household, per program year
                      • Television – Limit 4 per household, per program year
                      • Refrigerator – Limit 2 per household, per program year

                      • Programmable Thermostats - Limit 2 per household per program year
                      • Advanced Power Strips - Limit 4 per household per program year

                      Products must be delivered to and installed at the LADWP account holder’s home address.

                        A:  Customers can combine rebates for products and appliances, but cannot exceed the product limits listed above.

                        Customers who purchase an ENERGY STAR® qualified refrigerator can receive an additional $50 rebate if they let LADWP recycle their old refrigerator using LADWP’s Refrigerator Recycling Program. Additional information can be found at www.ladwp.com/retire.

                          A:  For the quickest rebate processing, go to the Efficient Product Marketplace (marketplace.ladwp.com) to verify product eligibility, then purchase eligible product(s) at a retail store (online or in person). Once you purchase a qualifying product, return to the EPM website, fill out the online application, upload your receipt, and submit the application. Once the application is approved, you will receive an email containing your Reward Link and instructions to redeem your rebate.

                          You can also receive your rebate in the form of an instant discount for selected products at https://marketplace.ladwp.com through the online store. Simply look for the shopping cart icon for eligible products.

                          If you do not have email, a paper application is available for download at www.ladwp.com/epm. Approved paper applications will be paid via a physical Visa gift card.

                            A:  Rebates are received by a Reward Link that is sent to the email address provided. If you do not have email, you can submit a paper application and receive prepaid Visa gift card.

                              A:  Once your online application has been approved, you will receive an email containing a Reward Link. Follow the instructions on the email to personalize distribution of e-gift card(s) or other reward options for immediate use.

                              If you submit a paper application, a prepaid Visa gift card can be expected within 60 days of receipt of your completed application.

                                • The virtual retailer cards (e-rewards) do not expire.
                                • The virtual Visa card must be redeemed within four (4) months of the redemption date, and expires seven (7) months from the activation date. After that expiration date, the card will no longer be valid and cannot be reissued.
                                • The physical Visa gift card is only valid for six months after being issued, until the expiration date listed on the front of the card. After that expiration date, the card will no longer be valid and cannot be reissued.

                                  A:  There are no fees for the virtual retailer or virtual Visa cards. However, if you elect to receive a physical Visa card, a $3 processing fee will be assessed (does not apply to paper applications submitted via mail).

                                    A:  Yes, you can mail the application with supporting documentation. Faxed or emailed applications will not be accepted. Only supporting documentation will be accepted by email or fax.
