Jason Rondou

Interim Chief Operating Officer and Senior Assistant General Manager - Power System

Jason Rondou is the Interim Chief Operating Officer and Senior Assistant General Manager of the Power System for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP). 

Mr. Rondou has over 23 years of experience with LADWP and the City of Los Angeles. His experience has been both in engineering and managerial capacities involving strategic initiatives such as the groundbreaking LA100 study, a partnership with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, which charted pathways to 100% clean energy in Los Angeles.

Mr. Rondou most recently served as the Assistant General Manager of Planning and Modernization. Prior to that he served as the Chief of Staff to the Power System for the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Engineer, as well as various leadership roles in the Power System, including Director of Power Engineering, Power System Planning, and Clean Grid LA.

Mr. Rondou received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Loyola Marymount University and a Master's in Public Administration from University of Southern California, as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles. Mr. Rondou is a licensed Electrical and Transportation Engineer in the State of California and is the former Chair of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Power & Energy Society. Born in Los Angeles, he enjoys trail running, hiking and spending time with his wife and two children.
