Project Description
LADWP will be installing three pole-top transformer racks in the Brentwood neighborhood to alleviate the strain on the distribution system supplied by Distributing Station 66 (DS-66).
The installation of pole-top transformers will enhance power supply reliability and minimize the frequency and duration of service outages.
Construction Information
The pole-top transformer racks are designed following strict safety standards and are mounted on metal poles, which are non-combustible and provide an added safety benefit. General construction impacts will be noise, traffic, and dust in the construction area. No water or power services are to be impacted by this work.
Project Location
The pole-top transformers will be located on San Vicente Blvd. and S. Gretna Green Way, Gorham Ave. and S. Barrington Ave., and Sunset Blvd. between San Remo Dr. and Allenford Ave.
Project Schedule
Construction is anticipated to occur intermittently from July 2026 through January 2027, with commissioning expected between January and April 2027.
