Pure Water Los Angeles Equity

Pure Water Los Angeles is committed to advancing equitable engagement, improving transparency, and ensuring investments and benefits are distributed fairly across Los Angeles.

In partnership with UCLA’s Luskin Center for Innovation, Pure Water Los Angeles launched the Equity Strategies Group (ESG) to provide strategic and technical input and identify priority equity goals to guide the program’s planning and decision-making. The ESG is a multisector advisory body which consists of community-based organizations, business groups, and members of the public—ensuring that a broad range of perspectives inform the program’s work.

Through a collaborative learning process, the ESG will shape how equity is integrated into all stages of the program development, including an equity framework, equity metrics, and tools created to guide how decisions will be made across the program.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Affordability
  • Urban and Socioeconomic Analysis
  • Equity
  • Workforce Development

Ultimately, this effort will guide the transition to a locally sourced, climate resilient water supply to ensure it is equitable, community-centered, and accessible to all Angelenos.
