About Cool LA
Cool LA helps LADWP customers better manage the impacts of extreme heat caused by climate change, especially older adults, income-qualified families, and those living in underserved communities where hot weather has an especially significant impact. Cool LA includes increased rebates on various types of cooling units to help LADWP customers overcome the health risks associated with extreme heat.
In addition, a new monthly payment program – Level Pay – is available to help customers smooth out their electric bills across twelve (12) monthly payments.
Some Cool LA offerings require customers to be current participants in one of the following programs: EZ-SAVE, Senior Citizen / Disability Lifeline Rate, Physician Certified Allowance Discount, and Life-Support Equipment Discount. Cooling Rebates
Income-qualified residential electric customers are eligible for a rebate of up to $225 on the purchase of select air conditioners (Window AC / Wall AC / Portable AC: limit of two units) through the Cool LA Marketplace.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s Comprehensive Affordable Multifamily Retrofits (CAMR) program assists L.A.’s low income, multifamily property owners.
Home Energy Improvement Program
LADWP is offering residential customers the opportunity to improve the energy and water performance in their homes, which can improve their comfort level and potentially reduce their energy and water cost through the Home Energy Improvement Program (HEIP). The program is free to eligible customers.
AC Optimization Program
The AC Optimization Program provides eligible residential and commercial LADWP customers services by certified, professional heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technicians from approved, licensed contractors to analyze cooling systems and provide basic maintenance and efficiency services.
Power Savers
LADWP Power Savers is an energy management program for residential and small commercial customers that allows remote adjustments of your thermostat up during the high energy-use season.

Extreme Heat Resources
During times of extreme heat, LADWP recommends customers use an existing home cooling unit to stay safe. By signing up for Level Pay monthly billing, seasonal spikes in electricity demand due to home cooling can be averaged across 12 monthly bills, making the use of home cooling easier to manage.
