Water Guardians Live Streaming Sing-A-Long Program with Animation

This program that Theatre of Will developed in conjunction with LADWP for grades 2-5 can be requested in either live in-person at schools or fully virtual formats.

This 40 to 45-minute program, which includes both a live teaching artist and three animated segments, helps students learn not only about water conservation practices but also the scientific method. The program includes several catchy raps and also songs on water conservation in which students are encouraged to participate.

Also, each participating student will receive a Water Guardians certificate after watching the program.

A staff development session is scheduled prior to presentations at each school. Several classes may participate at a time but presentations are limited to two per school and about 150 students each.

A digital handbook tied to the Next Generation Science Standards will also be provided to each participating teacher to assist in preparing students for the presentation. The presentations also include pre and posttests during each live session.

The Water Guardians Program is open to elementary grades, 2-5, in schools within the LADWP service area (city of Los Angeles which includes 80% of LAUSD schools, and most schools in the San Fernando Valley).
