LADWP Science Bowl XVIII
The 2010 LADWP Science Bowl competition will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010, in downtown Los Angeles at LADWP’s John Ferraro Building. The mandatory Practice Session will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the same location. In order to compete in the 2010 LADWP Science Bowl, all teams must participate in the Practice Session, including potential second teams. Additional information on the Practice Session will be provided with the acceptance notification.
The LADWP Science Bowl is an official regional competition of the U.S. Department of Energy National Science Bowl. This regional competition covers the area of the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). It is open to public high schools in the LAUSD and private/parochial schools located within the City of Los Angeles. Applications will only be accepted from high schools or schools that cover or include the high school grades 9-12 or 10-12.
The winner of the 2010 LADWP Science Bowl will represent Los Angeles at the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., April 29 through May 4, 2010.
All coaches must register their Science Bowl teams online at the National Science Bowl website. Registrations open October 1, 2009
Please keep in mind that after you hit the “submit” button on the online registration form only the regional coordinator can make changes to your registered team. If you are applying for a second team, please indicate this with the letters “A” or “B”. Links to the PDF files of the other required forms are below. After filling out the forms online, please save, print, sign and mail them to the address below. The deadline for both the online and hardcopy forms is December 15, 2009.
