Urban Water Management Plan
The California Urban Water Management Planning Act (California Water Code Division 6, Part 2.6 Sections 10610-10656) requires water suppliers to develop water management plans every five years to identify short-term and long-term water resources management measures to meet growing water demands during normal, dry, and multiple-dry years. LADWP’s Water Plan includes discussion of the following:
• A description of existing and planned sources of water available to the water supplier;
• Conservation efforts to reduce water demand;
• Activities to develop alternative sources of water;
• Assessment of reliability and vulnerability of water supply; and
• Water shortage contingency analysis.
