The La Kretz Innovation Campus (LKIC) is managed by the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI), a non-profit organization pledged to help cleantech portfolio companies deliver market-ready solutions and spur economic development and job creation in Los Angeles. This synergistic relationship plays a key role in helping achieve City of Los Angeles and LADWP goals to create a clean energy future for Los Angeles and expand local water supplies.

The fully-renovated property, a former furniture and fabric warehouse, is a 60,000 square foot, one-story brick masonry building that was purchased by the LADWP in 2010. Through an extensive renovation process, the LKIC was designed to be a LEED Platinum Certified building and boasts state-of-the-art green technology such as a 175-kilowatt photovoltaic solar canopy, a microgrid system, fast charger EV stations, two bioswales, and the first public greywater filtration system.

LKIC amenities include LADWP’s Customer Engagement and Sustainable Living Labs which includes the Case Study Home (a hands-on, simulated home environment where smart home and energy efficient technologies can be tested and evaluated), collaborative workspace, an advanced prototyping center (including a 3-D printing and laser shop, electronics, robotics, and chemistry labs), a training center, an amphitheater, and event space.

To take part in a guided walking tour of the LKIC, please register in advance of your visit.
